Kayt Band was founded in 2017 with the goal of presenting traditional Armenian music with a fresh, modern approach. The band performs folk songs and melodies passed down through oral tradition, many of which were recorded in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. Kayt is the first to stage many of these Armenian folk songs, striving to integrate them into contemporary musical life. Their performances include genres such as wedding, exile, and lyrical songs, arranged in a folk-fusion style that blends Armenian wind, string, and percussion instruments with modern international instruments.
