(Hommage to Marius Schneider)

“Akróasis” is the pendant of “aisthesis“ (the Greek word from which “aesthetics“ comes): it means “perception“, in the specific sense of aural perception.

In this lecture-performance in four parts, we will pay a tribute to Marius Schneider (1903-1982), the German researcher of cosmogonies and acoustic symbols, who dedicated his life to proof that sound is the origin and essence of all things, i.e. that the world itself is music.

Not only human beings can sing: but also animals, plants, planets, the natural elements, even the stones…
In a epic voyage through sounds, objects, substances and poetic acts, Marius Schneider is connected – despite himself! – with the musique concrète/acousmatics, the soundscape studies and sound art in general.

Technology, as “applied magic“, can paradoxically lead the listener again to the Source and re-enchant the world.
